A little update

Well as you know, James came home for R&R 2 days before Thanksgiving. I cant even explain how excited I was to lay eyes on him! I dont think I had ever been that excited! I was kind of worried Jaycee would not want to go to him, but that was totally not the case. She smiled and went right to him! I was so happy that she did that. That was a great night if you know what I mean:) Hehehe....We had Thanksgiving with his family and James fried the turkey which came out excellent. The next day James and I left for our little romantic get-a-way to a little cozy B&B in Breax Bridge, LA. Ahhhh man, we had a great time! Very romantic:) We went to eat at the Bone Fish Grill and the Ruth Chris Steak House...both were excellent!

We also did our little Christmas while he was home and boy did I get spoiled! He was actually wanting to spend some money if you can believe that! Those of you that have heard me talk about James being tight, know what I mean. Jaycee had a wonderful time opening all the presents. She sat in James' lap the whole time opening all the gifts. Of course, she got pretty spoiled too:) I love that man and I couldnt have asked for a better man.

He was suppose to leave Dec. 11th and the airport was an hour away (Lake Charles) and bc he had to be there at 5:45am we decided to stay over night in Lake Charles. That was a very emotional night for me:( When we got up the next morning it was snowing! When we got to the airport his flight had been cancelled!!!!!! I was so freakin excited! So we got one more night with him:)

Well of course, he left the next day and I was actually ok until I got home and Jaycee was asking where daddy was...thats when I fell apart:( That was really hard trying to be strong for her. It took about a week for things to get back to normal but now we are doing pretty good. Well anyways guys I hope you all have a very Happy New Year! Be safe!!!! Love you guys:)

Our Disney Trip

Well we are finally back here in Louisiana! We were AL bound around the 14th of Oct. and stopped in Mobile,AL and stayed the night with a friend of mine from Troy and that was really nice. She took us to a great seafood restaurant near their house. Got up the next morning and drove the rest of the way to Abbeville. Mom and everyone was really glad to see us...especially Jaycee:) We hung out with family for about 4 or 5 days then we left for Disney world! We met up with my best bud in Tallahasee and drove the rest of the way to Orlando the next day..they were very tired bc they were coming from VA. At Disney we visited a park a day and they were VERY LONG days! We would leave the room at like 8:30 and not get back until like 9 or 10 at night! I think my favorite park was Epcot bc while we were there they had a cheese and wine tasting going on..and I thought about you, Christie the whole time:) I drank a glass of wine and ate some cheese for you..lol. We were at Disney for 6 days..we had a great time overall just next time we wont go until Jaycee is a little older. After Disney we went back to mom and dads for a couple more days....went trick or treating and then drove back over here to LA...I must say we had a very nice vacation. Now that we are back home we will just be getting ready for James to come home...its suppose to be around the 23rd but we will see. I am very excited to see him, but I know I am not going to want to say good bye again:( But I guess thats part of it huh? Well I hear Jaycee hollaring for me so you guys take care! Lots of Love:)

As you know I am in the Hood...and staying with a friend of ours, Christie, who has been a wonderful hostess! Jaycee has been kinda sick with either allergies or a cold of some type...I really dont know what is wrong with the poor thing anymore. If she doesnt get much better this week, we are dr. bound!

We have been attending lots of parties and its been so nice seeing everyone! I love my hoodies:) Also in the evenings me, JennK, and Christie have been walking and that has been awesome! Oh yeah I have been eating out lots......which is good and bad, bad for the body but good bc its with friends:) We are staying a little longer in the Hood to help C after her surgery. Jaycee and I will probably be going home either Thursday or Friday. This weekend there is a fair in Deridder, LA and we will be going with my inlaws. All is well here...

I just wanted to thank everyone for their concern for us during Hurrican Ike. That really meant a lot to me. We had LOTS of wind and some very powerful wind too. I think the local weather man said it got close to 80 mph! We hardly got any rain, it would come and go in spurts. We didnt have electricity for almost 2 days! That sucked! It was a very HOT and HUMID couple of days. Here are a few pics of some down limbs:

Here comes another one!

Well looks like another hurricane is coming our way..I am so ready for hurrican season to be over! I think we may evacuate again, but certainly not to Houston this time. We may go to Mississippi or East Louisiana. When I go get Jaycee from school I am going to gas up the car and get some cash out just in case. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers...Hopefully Ike will be kind to us and the others who are in his path.

Seven years ago I was sitting in Marine Biology with the best teacher ever, Mrs. Treadaway, God rest her soul, when we heard the news of the twin towers and the trade center on 9-11. We were all very nervous and didnt know what else to expect. I was mostly in disbelief. I just sat and stared at the tv. Mrs. Treadaway just stood looking and shaking her head when her eyes filled with tears at the sight of devastation. ROTC was my next class and our commander, retired Major Danny Odom, was infuriated and I quickly knew why. He told us that terrorists had done this, I couldnt understand how someone would do such a terrible thing. I still dont understand. This morning I was driving Jaycee to school and over and over they kept playing news clips of that morning and I just cried for the families that lost loved ones and in absolute appreciation of all of our heroes. I feel very lucky to be married to soldier, or hero as I like to call him. I am a VERY proud army wife, I couldnt be more blessed. I am so grateful to all of our men and women in uniform, and when I say uniform I mean military, policemen, firefighters and anyone who protects us. God bless the USA!

Lots of good stuff to do

The PEP RALLY

Friday afternoon was Jaycee's first ever pep rally. She had a great time but was kind of confused why everyone was yelling. She just watched and stared at everything that was taking place on the gym floor. Her cousin Gracie is on the school's dance team and Jaycee got really excited when she saw her perform..and of course J had to shake her booty too:) Im sure we will be going to more in the near future because I have to admit I like them too. Just a little pic of Jaycee still looking confused...lol

LEXI'S FUND RAISING BENEFIT

Saturday we went to a benefit to raise money for a high school friend of James' whose baby was born with a heart condition. The baby, Lexi, was born in June of this year. The mother of the baby, Steph, noticed Lexi was having problems when she would nurse her because she would gasp for air. So Steph decided maybe she should take her to the Dr. just to make sure everything was ok. Good thing she listened to her motherly instints because Lexi had a hole in her heart among a few other heart complications. She was sent to the Childrens Hospital in Houston and has been there for over a month and a half now. At the benefit to raise money for the baby they sold t-shirts, cakes, raffle tickets, bbq plates, had a HUGE garage sale and a big dance that night. It was very nice. I hope they made lots of $$! Please keep their family in your thoughts and prayers. Here is a pic of J making her self at home in one of the strollers they had in the garage sale area:)
